Why postpartum hair loss happens
During pregnancy, high hormone levels keep more hairs in the growing phase. After birth, those hormones drop. Many hairs then enter the resting phase together and shed a few months later.
When postpartum hair loss usually starts and stops
- Shedding often starts about two to four months after birth.
- It is usually most noticeable around the hairline and temples.
- For most women, hair returns to its normal fullness within about a year.
Not sure what it is? Show us.
Tilt your head toward a window, take a photo of the spot that worries you and send it on WhatsApp. A trichologist looks at it and tells you what to do next. No queue, no guessing.
When to see a trichologist
- Shedding still heavy after six months
- Hair not growing back, or a wider parting
- Bald patches or a sore, itchy scalp
- Tiredness that does not lift, which can point to low iron or thyroid problems
How we help
We examine your scalp under the microscope. We check for low iron and other gaps where needed. Then we recommend gentle care that is safe for you, including while breastfeeding.

Frequently asked questions
Is postpartum hair loss permanent?
Usually not. Most hair grows back within a year. If it does not, there may be another cause worth checking.
Can I prevent postpartum hair loss?
You cannot fully prevent it. Good nutrition, gentle styling and avoiding tight styles help limit breakage while it settles.
Is it safe to treat hair loss while breastfeeding?
Some treatments are not suitable while breastfeeding. Talk to us before starting any product or medicine.

Would recommend them any day. They are such a friendly community, very warm and kind when it comes to their service delivery and do not get me started on the results! They do deliver on what they say and I am absolutely grateful for their support in growing my hair back to what it is today! They did make my dream come true, and finally I can get to embrace who I am fully when I look at myself in the mirror. Thank you so much Hair Hub!
I thank God that after 2 gruesome years of scalp psoriasis, I have finally found a solution that works like magic. This was only possible with the services I got from Hair Hub at Bemuda Plaza, after years of spending so much money on other hair products on the market, all in vain. The first consultation I had was with Celestine Gitau and 3 weeks later I can say without a doubt that I no longer have any flaking or itching of the scalp and the inflammation has since reduced drastically.
Customer service before the procedure was smooth and engaging. The experts handled everything very professionally. 10/10 would recommend.
Their Jet Peel PRP technology is on another level. My hair is gradually coming back. I am happy.
