What if your own blood could help your thinning hair grow stronger? That is the idea behind PRP hair treatment.
At Hairhub Trichology Centre in Nairobi, PRP is one of our main non surgical treatments for hair loss and thinning in both men and women.

What is PRP hair treatment?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. Platelets help the body heal wounds. They carry growth factors, natural proteins that signal cells to repair and grow.
PRP contains about five times the platelets found in normal blood. Placed into thinning areas of the scalp, it aims to move inactive follicles back into an active growth phase.
How is PRP done?
- We draw 40 to 80 ml of your blood, much like a routine blood test.
- The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate it into layers.
- The platelet rich layer is collected.
- It is placed into the thinning areas with fine needles. Nerve blocks can be used to ease discomfort.
We also offer PRP with Jet Peel technology, a needle free way of delivering it.
Not sure what it is? Show us.
Tilt your head toward a window, take a photo of the spot that worries you and send it on WhatsApp. A trichologist looks at it and tells you what to do next. No queue, no guessing.
Who is PRP for?
PRP works well when the hair follicles are still in place. It suits people with thinning hair from conditions such as male and female pattern hair loss.
It is also used for transplant patients. At Hairhub, PRP starts 3 weeks after a hair transplant to support the new follicles.
Who should not have PRP?
- Heavy smokers and people with heavy alcohol or drug use
- People with platelet or clotting disorders, or on blood thinners
- People with acute or chronic infections, chronic liver disease, cancer or chronic skin disease
- People with serious metabolic or systemic disorders
Your trichologist reviews your health history before recommending PRP.
How many sessions might I need?
PRP is usually repeated every month for about 4 to 6 months, depending on how you respond. Most people show improvement after about 2 to 3 months.
Results vary from person to person. They depend on your body’s own healing ability. No honest clinic can promise the same result for everyone.
Can PRP be combined with other treatments?
Yes. We encourage it. PRP hair treatment is often combined with Minoxidil and DHT blockers. It is also a good option for people who cannot tolerate those medicines.
PRP or GFC?
GFC, or Growth Factor Concentrate, is a newer and more refined version of PRP. It keeps only the growth factors. Read our GFC page to compare the two.

Frequently asked questions
Is PRP safe?
PRP uses your own blood, so your body recognises it. Nothing from another person is used. Mild swelling, redness or bruising can happen.
When might I see results?
Most people see improvement after about 2 to 3 months of monthly sessions.
Does PRP work for women?
Yes. PRP is used for both male and female pattern hair loss.
Can PRP regrow hair on a completely bald area?
PRP works where follicles are still present. Where follicles are gone, a transplant may be the better option.

Would recommend them any day. They are such a friendly community, very warm and kind when it comes to their service delivery and do not get me started on the results! They do deliver on what they say and I am absolutely grateful for their support in growing my hair back to what it is today! They did make my dream come true, and finally I can get to embrace who I am fully when I look at myself in the mirror. Thank you so much Hair Hub!
I thank God that after 2 gruesome years of scalp psoriasis, I have finally found a solution that works like magic. This was only possible with the services I got from Hair Hub at Bemuda Plaza, after years of spending so much money on other hair products on the market, all in vain. The first consultation I had was with Celestine Gitau and 3 weeks later I can say without a doubt that I no longer have any flaking or itching of the scalp and the inflammation has since reduced drastically.
Customer service before the procedure was smooth and engaging. The experts handled everything very professionally. 10/10 would recommend.
Their Jet Peel PRP technology is on another level. My hair is gradually coming back. I am happy.
